Cosmopolitan Recipe With Pomegranate Simple Syrup
This pomegranate cosmopolitan is easy and SO delicious. It’s made with pomegranate simple syrup in place of cranberry juice. Remarkably smooth with just the right amount of sweet tang and perfect for any occasion!
⭐️ Why Simple Syrups Are a Game Changer
My friends and fellow mixologists, trust me when I say homemade simple syrups will revolutionize your cocktail game! Take this dreamy pomegranate cosmopolitan recipe I’m sharing today. By swapping traditional cranberry juice for pomegranate simple syrup, we achieve:
1️⃣ Richer flavor
2️⃣ Customized sweetness
3️⃣ Smoother mouthfeel
Here’s why:
Pomegranate has a deeper, slightly more complex fruit profile than cranberry, so the cocktail tastes more layered and less sharp.
With pomegranate simple syrup, you decide exactly how sweet the drink is.
Simple syrup gives the cocktail a silkier, rounder mouthfeel.
This delicious cocktail is two quick and easy recipes in one. First, let’s start with pomegranate simple syrup and then move on to pomegranate cosmopolitan.

Martini glass or coupe glass
Ingredients
❤️ Pomegranate Simple Syrup
Pomegranate juice- I used 100% pomegranate juice from Pom Wonderful. They come in 8-oz bottles, which is just the right size for making two batches.
Sugar- Use organic cane sugar to keep it vegan-friendly. Regular white sugar will work just fine, too.
Lemon juice- Fresh is best! Lemon juice balances the sweetness of the syrup and brightens the pomegranate flavor.
🍷Pomegranate Cosmopolitan
Vodka- Regular vodka may be used in this recipe. A traditional Cosmopolitan calls for citron vodka. You may use that if you prefer, keeping in mind that the lemon juice in the pomegranate simple syrup adds just the right amount of citrus flavor and bright zing to balance the drink.
Cointreau or Triple Sec- This orange liqueur adds bright, slightly sweet citrus flavor.
Pomegranate simple syrup- This ingredient makes our cocktail a pomegranate cosmopolitan. Traditional cosmos use cranberry juice.
Lime juice- Again, fresh is best! Half a lime should give you 1 tablespoon of juice.
Ice cubes- not crushed ice, which will melt quickly, diluting your drink.

❓ FAQs
Can I use regular vodka in this recipe?
Yes! I used Grey Goose, which is a remarkably smooth vodka and my go-to for all vodka cocktail recipes.
A traditional Cosmopolitan calls for citron vodka. You may use that if you prefer, keeping in mind that the lemon juice in the pomegranate simple syrup adds just the right amount of citrus flavor and bright zing to balance the drink.
Cointreau or triple sec, which is best?
Cointreau is a premium triple sec from France, and what I use in this recipe. It can be pricey though. A bottle will last for years and, I feel, is well worth the investment.
Triple sec is a category of orange liqueurs ranging from 15% to 40% ABV, from cheap and sweet to premium. Choose the best brand that you can easily afford.
What kind of cocktail glass should I use?
Choose a cocktail glass with a wide, shallow bowl and a long stem, like a martini glass. The stem lets you hold the glass without warming the drink, and the wide bowl shows off the vibrant red color.
Another alternative is a coupe glass, which has a rounded, slightly smaller bowl, a stem, and elegant vintage vibes.
❤️ I’ve been enjoying this punchy-sweet cocktail all winter long. And now that it’s spring, I think I’ll enjoy another one. I hope you love it too!
Happy sipping, my friend!
